Weightloss Wednesday

Is this a healthy standard? Is this something we should be teaching young girls?
Tori Spelling - look at her bones sticking out.. LOOK AT HER LEG?!?!!? What is going on with her LEG!!?!?

Here we have Allegra Versace - wow... she has a known eating disorder - but noone seems to be overly concerned with helping her

Up next we have Nicole Richie before and after - which picture is she healthier?

And finally - why are these people called "chunky" or "thick" or "heavy"?

I understand the importance of having a healthy body weight. I understand that excess fat is a cause of major health problem... but these two are hardly obese or even overweight.

  1. My personal favorite is the "she's so great, she's embraced her curves!" BS that most magazines publish.

Some days I'm very happy to be on the other side of that, and have two sons - Lord help the girls growing up in today's world.

Found you via SiTS - welcome!! Em

  2. totally agree! fashion designers are the culprits here.. they are incredibly narrow minded and believe that only the rail thin models make their clothes look good.. so that's the image that is force fed to the mags that support them. it's disgusting! i have a 20 yr old daughter, a normal size 10.. who thank God is completely confident in who she is.. in spite of the anorexic crap that is thrown at her.
enjoyed your story on oh mishka. :) -Tracie

  3. You are making such a great point here! I understand that some people are just thin no matter what they do (I'm one of them) but it is disgusting to know that people MAKE themselves that way intentionally. I think what Hollywood calls fat is GORGEOUS! I wish I could get myself to gain weight and look more like the 'heavy side' of Hollywood.
