Not more then a couple years ago, I wore shoes like this:

Beautiful, high, pointy or open toe. No matter the weather, no matter how tired, no matter how far I had to walk or what I had to do that day - I would wear heels.
Now, in my 30's I wear these:

The saddest part is - I walk downtown every day after work - about 30-45 minutes. I do not wear these shoes to walk downtown... oh no... I switch to RUNNERS!!!! I used to wear heels day in - day out. Now I cant even wear flats to walk downtown. I have become one of those women that wears ankle socks and runners with her cute little dress.
Sad.
Very Sad.
Is that a sign of middle age?
Maybe it's laziness.
Maybe it's because I don't feel the need to dress up at my job.. at all.

How about we just say if you throw out those cute heels, then you're old. Just keep them around for date nights and you'll stay young forever :)
ReplyDeleteThere's no sense in ruining your feet to look good on the way to work.
Oh yeah. I can definitely relate. I'm 38 and barely make it out of tennis shoes at work anymore.
ReplyDeleteTo true! Though I'm still in my 20s and wear heals sometimes, I can already see how my choice of shoes has changed since having kids!
