The Golden Globes

Let's start off the evening with Michael C Hall. Michael C Hall won Best Actor in a TV Series - Drama: for Dexter. He somehow managed to privately fight Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was looking good at the Golden Globes.

The award for Best Director-Motion Picture went to James Cameron for Avatar

The award for Best TV Series-Musical or Comedy went to GLEE (of course)

Best TV Series Drama went to Mad Men. I have never watched it (I know - horrible) but we are going to (eventually) just get all of them on DVD and watch them from the beginning.

Can I tell you that even though I have never seen the show. I am obsessed with Christina Hendricks. How perfect is she? I love her!!

The award for Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical went to The Hangover. Such an awesome awesome movie. The commercials did NOT do it justice!
Best Screenplay (Motion Picture) went to Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner for Up In The Air. I haven't seen this yet, but I definitely want to!

Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical went to Meryl Streep for Julie and Julia.

The award for Best Animated Feature Film went to Up. Another great animation - however much more sad then I expected it to be.

Toni Collette won best actress in a TV series (Comedy/Musical) for United States of Tara. I really really love this show. It is so well done, and I LOVE Toni Collette. I highly recommend it!

The award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture-Drama went to Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side. I saw this in the theatre with a friend of mine. I thought it was going to be SO SAD because I could barely make it through the preview of the movie. But the sadness was really broken up through out - and it was a great movie!

The award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Musical or Comedy went to Robert Downey Jr. for Sherlock Holmes.

And of course - The final award of the evening for Best Motion Picture-Drama went to Avatar. The best movie I had seen in 2009. Everyone must see it!
Best speech? Definitely MoNique - very sweet and lovely.
Fashion...
LOVE LOVE LOVE Christina Hendricks (peachy champagne dress by Christian Siriano and jewels by Loree Rodkin)
Zoe Saldana - is so gorgeous. She wore a Louis Vuitton dress and Brian Atwood “Wagner” pumps to the show.
Lea Michele looked adorable. She wore a strapless Oscar de la Renta gown.

Tina Fey - Oh Tina Fey... I don't know who she's wearing, nor do I care. I think she looks absolutely horrible!!! WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!!! I can't even waste my time on this... Horrible... Definite miss!!!

  1. I thought Ricky Gervais did a good job hosting it as well - his mel gibson joke was great!

  2. I ADORE Glee-- I was so happy it won! Although, it just made me miss miss miss that show and long for when it returns in April (I think).

And AMEN on Christina Hendricks-- I JUST started watching Mad Men on DVD (just as good as on TV, I'm sure!), and I love her character. She definitely embodies all her curvy style and THEN SOME on that show!
