Huffington Post wrote an article about a dress code put out by a sorority at Cornell. I'm not sure what kind of time these girls have on their hands to type out such an elaborate list....
Some key points to remember...
No "Fuck Me Pump" or tacky/cheapo/pleather
Apparently you don't look good in a satin dress unless you are under 130lbs... but what if you're 6 feet tall?
Blush is not optional for some reason
Oh... and you better have a mani/pedi
And this get waxed thing - are they going to check to see if youre waxed? Cos I'm pretty sure that's an invasion of privacy.
Hitler also states: "Bangles need to coordinate. I’m not saying you have to wear a Harry Winston wreath, but I am saying I won’t tolerate any gross plastic shizzzz. I love things on wrists and I demand earrings if your ears are pierced"
What do you think of all of this? Is this OK? Is it just a prank? Whats up?

Bitch is CRAZYYYY is what I say! Haha I think it's a really strict dresscode for their like...rush week events or something like that... I get the need for a certain dress code for specific sorority events (even if I think it's dumb) but this girl is so ridic it just makes me laugh. If I ever got that notice in the mail I'm pretty sure I'd tear it up and never speak to them again!
ReplyDeleteI was in a sorority in college... and I'm proud to say, we were an open-minded group. But, a lot of the sororities on my campus were NOT, and had dress codes, behavior codes, boy codes... they even mandated how long you should work out every day and WHAT TO WEAR to the gym.
ReplyDeleteIt was a tad over the top... Yet for some reason, those were the sororities all the girls wanted to be in, crazy or not.

I would have punched the girl in the face.
ReplyDeleteAnd then joined a new club.
But I was always a rebel in college.

I do not condone the length of this list, but it looks like it's the rush clothing list, which is all about uniformity. We had similar rules for rush, although not nearly this specific. It was, "wear a red cocktail dress during fourth round with tan heels."
ReplyDeleteThis girl is a little OTC. I'm guessing 90% of her "sisters" rolled their eyes at her.
