I stated HERE, that I was going to do a Great Lash Experiment. I committed to apply Vaseline to my lashes every evening for eight weeks in order to see if it made my lashes longer, thicker, fuller.
I have been doing this for 10 nights now. I don't notice a change in the appearance of my lashes when they are nude, aside from the fact that they are softer. I have noticed however, that I lose less lashes when washing my face or remove eye makeup. Plus, I've had comments from co-workers and my husband that my lashes look great.
My boss asked me what mascara I used. She said that she thought I changed to an amazing new mascara because my lashes looked longer and fuller. I have also noticed now that when I look out of the corner of my eye that my view is partially blocked due to lashes.
Short story on that - I had a mild panic attacked the first time my lashes blocked my vision as I thought:
1. I was going blind
2. I was having a stroke
3. I have MS
I panicked. I thought I was dying - my heart was racing - but, it was just my eyelashes.
So, so far the Vaseline seems to make lashes healthier - which in turn makes them fall out/break less, which in turn makes them thicker and fuller. Again, there is no difference when they are nude (which is why I did not attach a picture), but with mascara they do have more volume.
*I did not get these products for free. I am not affiliated with the company in any way. I am not being paid by the company. This is my honest opinion, not a paid review*

Hi!!! I'm over from SITS. Wow! I'm trying the vaseline thing tonight. I have fairly long lashes, but I'll take more! I've never heard anyone complain about their lashes being too long. That's like saying your teeth are too white. And so funny, that's exactly what I would think. I am the queen of hypochondria. I'll be back to check out the rest of your blog. I love this post.
ReplyDeleteHi, visiting from SITS. So are you just rubbing it into the lash line? My eyelashes fall out like crazy. It is kind of a joke between my husband and I that I have six on each eye...not too far from the truth though. 'm going to read back to see if you have more instructions.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a new follower!
Fingers crossed.
it's funny - as I was putting on some mascara the other day I was thinking about your vaseline experiment and I wondered if it was working. My lashes don't seem to fall out at an alarming rate - but I wonder - does the vaseline irritate your eyes at all?

Hi Katie,
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny.
Vaseline doesn't irritate my eyes at all. My eyelids are a bit sensitive and get itchy if I wear my eye makeup for too long - and I notice that's not happening anymore either. So it may be helping, but you can never be too careful I guess.
What a great tip, I never would've never thought to use Vaseline on lashes.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS :)
Stopping by from SITS and wishing you a great week!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried vaseline before. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteGood to know! You would think that it would make the mascara slide off.
